About Us
Stance: An International Undergraduate Philosophy Journal is produced and edited entirely by undergraduate students. We aim to enrich student learning by providing an opportunity for undergraduate students to have their original scholarly work reviewed by or published in a peer-reviewed academic journal.

Stance is published annually in April. The deadline for submission is in mid-December. All papers are carefully considered by multiple blind reviewers. Notification of initial decision is early February. All authors receive constructive feedback concerning submissions.

What Makes Us Different
Stance provides a forum for students from around the world who are enrolled as undergraduates at the time of submission. Having an International Standard Serial Number, Stance is registered with the U. S. Library of Congress and indexed on google.com, yahoo.com, and MSN.com. Using a blind review process, we provide contributors a pre-professional learning opportunity to interact with a community of peers, which should further prepare students for future careers in philosophy. We accept essays on a wide variety of topics to not only give students a chance to display their work, but also to see work that may be surprisingly different from their own. Our rejection rate is approximately 90 percent.

The Experience
The undergraduate students who are the editorial board of Stance are trained in specific editorial skills, including line-editing, content evaluation, professional communication, and independent research. Several reviewers examine each contributed paper. Contributors are given constructive feedback, even if the paper is rejected. For accepted and ‘revise and resubmit’ papers, the feedback is typically substantial. The editor-in-chief of Stance ensures that all questions are answered professionally and in a timely manner.

Inquiries should be directed to Dr. David W. Concepción, Managing Editor at dwconcepcion@bsu.edu.

Stance gratefully acknowledges Ball State University's support of the publication of this journal.
